French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review

French-door fridges combine functionality and form. They have stylish double doors that show the large fridge on top and a freezer drawer below. These refrigerators stand out because of their unique features, such as through-the-door dispensers and higher-end ice makers.

We contacted Ladina Schopf - an interior designer, architect, and the founder of LS Projects - for her tips on how to select the right one. They weighed the capacity of storage as well as layout and energy efficiency, among other aspects.

Given that this fridge costs more, I'd expect higher quality.

Other than that however, this refrigerator is a great option. It has a large freezer compartment, which is quite uncommon in counter-depth French door fridges, and it holds a good amount of frozen food as compared to similar models.

The fridge has 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is standard for a French-door refrigerator at this price. It has a decent sized freezer in the left side. But it's not the biggest one I've seen.

You can adjust the shelves in each compartment to create a custom storage setup for what you want to store. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is stylish, too. Its LED lighting is a nice touch, and the in-door storage bins feature a third shelf that folds down to allow you to store items that are tall. The drawers come with temperature controls so you can set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. The drawers are french door fridges good simple to shut and open, but I found the textured plastic coatings a bit hard on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes the all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator at this price, including Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app is available for iOS and Android devices and allows you to control your refrigerator from anywhere around the world. It also has a lot of customization options. It also sends you notifications when a door is left open, when the refrigerator or freezer needs defrosting and when it's time to change the filter.

It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS included Precise fill which is an option that is available in other GE fridges that allows you to choose how many cups of water you'd like to dispense at once. It also has an indicator on the display of the fridge to display how much water have left, but it's not as useful as Precise fill.

This fridge was the top-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators test, for several reasons. Its freezer temperatures held firm at just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit and never moving more than a fraction of one degree. This is crucial in preventing freezer burn. The fridge section of the fridge also performed well. It reached the initial temperature set within an hour, and remained at the temperature throughout our testing.

Bosch is a household name for its high-end appliances. Therefore, it's no surprise that the Bosch counter depth fridge can be connected to your home Wi Fi and Bosch's Home Connect. This app lets you monitor and control your fridge from your tablet or smartphone. The refrigerator is costly and has great features and functionality at a fair price.

While the fridge is an incredible appliance however, it is important to understand the limitations. You might need to be creative with tall objects because the fridge has a limited shelf space. Also, the shelves are not sprillproof and can be easily damaged or stained by sharp objects. It's simple to remove the trays in the fridge, but be sure to keep them clean to avoid mold growth.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S is a top counter-depth refrigerator that packs plenty of storage into a compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the refrigerator has an ordinary French-door design with gallon-sized bins for the doors on each door and two rows of spill-capture shelves and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right side can be folded to provide more space for taller items. You'll also find a full width deli drawer and an internal water dispenser.

The refrigerator comes with an ice maker, making it simple to transfer frozen ice as needed. The freezer is designed with thoughtful elements, for instance, sliding drawers to help you to organize the place of items. It also comes with a large bin that holds plenty of frozen food items and a separate ice storage bin.

Another cool feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It lets you control the fridge's temperature, lighting, and more from your smartphone. It's an easy way to monitor your refrigerator and control it, particularly when you're not at home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat, but it doesn't necessarily enhance the efficiency of the fridge. In fact it took a bit longer to defrost and chill food in this fridge as compared to other fridges we tested. This is likely due to the greater capacity.

The doors are another problem with this fridge. The handles with a sunken design allow shorter people to open them from the bottom. However, taller people still have a hard time closing them without slamming. It would have been better if they had handles mounted on the front.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent option for those who want to combine the look of a small french door fridge door refrigerator with a more efficient design. Its capacity is superior for a counter-depth model and it cools evenly and has a good layout. It's also less expensive than the top counter depth refrigerator that comes with an icemaker, which makes it a great choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire french door fridge cheap door refrigerator is a good option if you want a French-door fridge that won't break the budget. It's a basic design that's not as striking visually like some of the competitors however it comes with enough features that make it a great option. Its most notable feature is the temperature adjustable drawer, helps to keep food like vegetables and meat fresher for longer. It also has a large ice maker and a water dispenser.

The "Chill Drawer", which is situated above the two crisper bins, is another nice feature. This drawer allows you to redirect some of your fridge's cooling power into this area so that you can keep food items that require special attention. You can adjust the feature using the slider located on the on the outside of the drawer. You can also use this feature to adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge however, I've found that changing the general settings tends to produce better results than specific ones.

During my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator stayed fairly consistent across different areas of the fridge. Temperatures at the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary very far from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within a degree of 36. This is a solid performance, but it doesn't quite make it to the top of our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also combine this fridge with a smart thermometer for more precise measurements of your fridge's internal temperature.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made from gray-bodied stainless with a "smudge proof" finish. It blocks streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I've tried.
